We went to a party Saturday night after we got home from Toledo and guests were asked to describe their "Stendhal moment". As I understand it, this is named for the novelist Stendhal, and is a moment when one is overwhelmed by an encounter with art or nature. Choosing my Stendhal moment was easy:
It was sitting at sunset in a muddy cornfield in Ohio as a rainstorm approached, looking at a blue tree. The perfect encounter of art plus nature!
I didn't faint (which often happens with Stendhal moments) but I felt transformed and overwhelmed. So thanks to you for the experience, and for making my presentation at the party so effortless.
